My New Year’s Resolution

It’s a new year and that means it’s time for a new resolution! I don’t know about you, but my last one didn’t go so well. Going a year without soda doesn’t sound hard, I know, but believe me it was! I made it through the first week before temptation got the better of me. This year I am determined to make a resolution and stick to it! As an employee at All My Sons Moving & Storage, I am always looking for ways to improve myself and my work. I think my resolution for the up and coming New Year will be to improve on my part as an employee of All My Sons. I am confident that I will have no trouble keeping that resolution because I already strive for improvement because I feel that an employee that stops trying to improve will stop progressing. There are always things that can be done to improve and I am up to the challenge. I will do my personal best and seek to motivate and inspire those around me. I feel that I am only as strong as my weakest teammate so I want to focus on helping everyone so we can grow as a company. Happy New Years everyone!!! Be safe and always remember to choose All My Sons Moving & Storage as your Ft. Lauderdale movers!

THANK YOU!!

So many things go unnoticed and unappreciated that most of the time a simple “thank you” can mean all the difference in the world. This year has had its ups and downs, that’s for sure, but I think that it was a good year. Not everyone can say that they wake up every morning and look forward to going to work but I certainly can. That is due to the wonderful customers I talk to every day and the fantastic crew I have that make every move we do go smoothly. I just want to say thank you to everyone for a wonderful year. It would not have been possible without you. It seems like this year has gone by so fast and I can’t believe that it’s almost over. I’m looking forward to another fantastic year of great moves and great people. I think it is important to say that, without my customers, All My Sons Moving & Storage would not be here today so thank you to all of my customers. I know that moving isn’t easy and I am so thankful that you chose me to help make your transition from home to home go smoothly. It is an honor to work with so many great people and I am looking forward to getting the New Year started!

From Santa…

There are so many things a person can do each day to improve the day of someone else. Simple things like giving up your parking spot to someone else or helping your neighbor carry in groceries. Everywhere you look you can always find someone in need. I love to help people. That’s one of the reasons that I love working for All My Sons Moving & Storage. Here at All My Sons, I am dedicated to helping my customers and making sure that everyone I move gets a good, quality move. It seems that everywhere I turn there is someone that needs my help. The most recent was a situation that goes right along with the holiday spirit. I was taking the trash out and I noticed my neighbor looked very upset. Usually I don’t like to meddle in other peoples’ business but she just looked so upset, I had to ask. My neighbor told me that she was just recently laid off due to the economy and now she didn’t have enough money to get her son anything for Christmas. She barely had enough money to pay her bills and she told me that she felt like she was letting her son down. He is only nine years old and still believes in Santa so she was so upset that she wasn’t going to have anything for him to unwrap on Christmas morning. It was around 8:30pm on Christmas Eve and I was so touched by what had happened to her that I went right then to the local dollar store and got a trunk full of toys. When I got back home I wrapped them all and hid them in my bedroom. I told my neighbor, Cindy, that I needed her help for a second and I asked her if she could run up to the store and get a gallon of milk for me. I told her that, since her son was already asleep, I would sit in her apartment and make sure he was ok. Cindy left and I ran and got the presents. By the time Cindy got back with the milk I had everything all set up. She came in and almost dropped the gallon of milk. I knew she would be surprised but I wasn’t expecting her reaction. She flung her arms around me and cried. She thanked me over and over again before I could get her to calm down. I told Cindy that there was no reason to thank me because the gifts were from Santa. Cindy picked up one of the presents and noticed that all tags said “From Santa.” I wasn’t there in the morning when Cindy’s son Jacob got up but I knew it was a good morning for him. Truth be told, I think that I got the best present of all because I got to be a part of their happiness. I think that the feeling I got from helping them was far better than any store bought present. If everyone could give a little back to the world, just imagine how wonderful life would be. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays, from my family to yours!

Moving Can Be Fun!

Moving is always stressful. There are so many things to plan and prepare for, even after you’ve selected All My Sons Moving & Storage as your mover. If you have children, they can sometimes make your job harder. Moving is difficult for the whole family and sometimes can be upsetting to your children. They may not understand what’s going on and often protest the move. It is important to make moving fun for them so that your move will be a little bit easier. Children have great imaginations so you should use that to your advantage. You could try making it into a game or a race. If you have more than one child, make them race to see who can pack up their things the fastest. You can tell them to imagine that they are on an adventure to a new land and their new home is where they’re going. You’d be surprised at how easily children can imagine just about anything. If you stay positive and upbeat about the move then your children will do the same. Children pick up on our emotions so if you’re excited, they’re excited. No one wants to move but if you look at the move with optimism then it will be a lot easier. Starting over can bring many good changes. You are wiping the slate clean and starting over fresh. New homes mean new friends and new surroundings. Make sure that your children know that the move is nothing to be upset about, but rather a new adventure!

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Respect. Everyone deserves it but so frequently we are not treated with as much respect as we should be. With the changing times, people have lost the common courtesy we used to have for others. Now everyone is all about getting something for nothing. No one cares about anyone else without the prospect of personal gain. Everywhere you go there are people that will try to take advantage of you. It seems the majority of people have forgotten that, in order to get respect, you must first be willing to give it. I have made it my personal goal to always respect my customers and treat them with the care that they are entitled to. That is one reason why All My Sons Moving & Storage of Ft. Lauderdale is the best choice for your moving needs. I am a stong believer in the Golden Rule that you should treat others as you expect them to treat you. I appreciate how far a little bit of care and concern can go. My customers are my priority and I make sure that they know that I am as concerned about their move as they are. I take pride in the old fashioned service I provide because, too often, that kind of care is overlooked by many of the other local moving companies you may talk to. Times are definitely changing and not always necessarily for the better. I do everything I can to make sure that my customers are satisfied and feel comfortable with the decision to use All My Sons Moving & Storage for their long distance and local moving needs move. No other Ft. Lauderdale moving company can compete with the respect I give to everyone I move. There are so many companies out there in Ft. Lauderdale that are just interested in making money. They don’t care about the people they are moving because, to them, people are just numbers in their bank accounts. I would rather loose money and gain you as a life-long customer then to loose that trust forever because I provided you with a second-rate move. Each and every person I move feels like a part of my family and I treat them as they should be treated because I know that moving is stressful. Any kind of moving can make you loose sleep whether your move is a local move or a long distance move. You need someone who cares about you. There are so many sharks out there just jumping at the chance to take advantage of you. You should be spending the holidays with your family, not trying to replace damaged belongings that were mistreated by a less than qualified local Ft. Lauderdale mover. Let me show you what respect means to me by choosing All My Sons Moving & Storage.

How to feel at home.

Moving is stressful. It’s less stressful if you moved with All My Sons Moving & Storage, but still, it isn’t something you want to do very often. With moving comes new possibilities and new beginnings. It also brings a chance to start over. You’re in a new place with new people and a blank slate. This can be exciting to some people but, if you’re anything like me, it’s terrifying! One reason that I hate moving so much is that you have to start over making friends, finding hobbies, and even finding a job. I am not the most outgoing person so this is definitely hard for me. I’m getting nervous just thinking about it! Thankfully there are easy ways to overcome this fear. Something that I have tried recently is getting involved in my new community. There are almost always organizations in your community that you can join. You’d be surprised at how fast you make friends when you do things like joining the local neighborhood watch and other organizations. This will provide you with a hobby and make you feel more comfortable in your new surroundings. If you have children you might try joining the PTA so that you can meet other parents in the area and keep up to date on your children’s education. The main thing to remember is to relax! This isn’t the end of the world and there are definitely worse things that could happen!

Benefits Of Quilt Pad Wrapping!!

When All My Sons performs a local move for a shipper, we use quilt pad wraps to protect the furniture from being knicked, scratched, or dinged. I want to take some time to introduce some other benefits of using quilt pad wraps. When it comes to packing, using quilt pads means you do not have to empty dresser drawers. All My Sons Moving and Storage wraps all the furntiture, therefore keeping the dresser drawers shut. If it is raining, the quilt pads protect your furniture from getting wet. Quilt pads are not only meant to help protect your furniture. When people move they are usually moving into a newly painted house or apartment, they are also intended to protect your walls. They are most definitely going to save you money. You are not going to have to spend money on boxes for your clothes in the dresser, and for those local movers that do use quilt pad wraps, you will not have to worry about any costly repairs to your furniture or walls in your new home.

Moving Brokers Are Bad!

What are brokers? They are what some Fort Lauderdale movers use to give you that quote you are looking for. The really bad thing about brokers is the fact they then take that information and sell it to the highest bidder. Your contact information may go through 15 different hands before it gets to the right company. That means that the professional Fort Lauderdale movers you think are showing up are sometimes just a man in a pick-up truck pulling a trailer… Sometimes it’s a horse trailer!

That is not the way to move your furniture! Those trailers do not have the suspension that a moving truck has. These people usually don’t have the experience to complete a move. Your property is damaged, stolen, and sometimes made to look like it is not broken (this can be very dangerous when you have children)!!!

I’ve seen old rental moving trucks that have the original decals removed, then Fort Lauderdale movers spray paint Moving Co. and a phone number on the side of the truck with a can of spray paint. These local moving companies are not licensed and insured.

The problems with these Fort Lauderdale movers and with the Fort Lauderdale movers that brokers send out are simple… If they get hurt in your house or even on your property they can sue you! These Fort Lauderdale movers also use untrained day laborers that are in no hurry to get the job done… Why would they? They have no guaranteed job the next day! So on top of a extremely long move. You may also have items missing!

Here at All My Sons Moving and Storage. You talk to us, and it is All My Sons Moving and Storage that moves you! Just a great company doing a great move for you! We are a Fort Lauderdale mover that takes pride in all of the moves we do no matter how large or small, you could be moving right next door or across the country.

Celebrating America’s Birthday!

All My Sons of Fort Lauderdale would like to wish everyone a fun filled safe and happy 4th of July.

The 4th of July is one of the most-anticipated holidays of the summer, with food, parades, and of course, fireworks! It was on this date in 1776, that the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, effectively cutting the colonies’ ties to Great Britain. For years, the 4th of July holiday was observed unofficially; it wasn’t until 1941 that Congress declared it a legal holiday. I know I have been celebrating the 4th of July for as long as I can remember.

Picnics and barbeques bring the family together and with a menu of watermelon, corn on the cob, hamburgers or hot dogs, apple pie and ice cream you have the recipe for success.

I don’t know how you plan to enjoy this great holiday, however I would like to point out the way I celebrate America’s birthday. Like I said, it’s about spending time with family, having fun, eating great American food, the music, and of course the parades and Fireworks.
